Laundry

The most annoying house hold chore for me is laundry. My mother loves it. Woke up early to do it and I remember when I was younger her telling me with sincere enthusiasm "look at all that beautiful, clean laundry doesn't it just smell and look so good." She is a meticulous ironer and even my dads t-shirts look amazing. Well, I didn't get that gene:( I'm not sure if any of my sisters got that gene:(

Any way, I digressed.

This summer I thought that I could pawn off the laundry to my kids. I bought them each a laundry basket, spent a couple weeks and taught them, "this is where the soap goes, this is a dryer sheet and this is how you turn on the dryer." I gave great advice like "this is how you hang up a shirt without stretching the neck, if you hang everything up right out of the dryer it won't get wrinkly. Any way, it was going well and they were doing a great job. I thought everything was going great till I noticed something. Because Sam (not so much Morgan) was not so excited about his new chore he had come up with a plan. That is to never change his clothes, and not to sleep in his bed. He will sleep in his underwear and then the next morning he puts on his same clothes again. I can't decide if he is a genius of a grody little kid.

He is so funny.

About now I am at an impasse. Should I force him to change and sleep in his bed -or- because it is his responsibility to take care of his laundry should I let him be in control of it?

DISCLAIMER: Just so you know, he bathes and I have forced him to wear clean clothes when we are going out or to church. This scenario is only for those dog days of summer where we play in the yard and goof off.
